Yup. I was a dumbass and thought I could submit on the 30th.
Turns out I misunderstood from the start and it was the cutoff.

:bulletblue: Oh well. I saw every entry, and I think I would have juuuust missed the top-10 spot. There were, in my opinion, about a dozen amazing pieces, that when I studied them, thought "Yep. That would be a great shirt. They really got the know-how for graphic design."

:bulletblue: There are things about this pict that make me unhappy. Poses of hands, pose of the characters, the background, etc. BUT, I had fun with this, even if Lewis's torch arm made me insane because I simply couldn't get his hand tilted right over the course of 5 hours.
I have an alternate background that's just white, and another with the circle painted with some simple, blurby biomes like a little world, but, it was extremely distracting. With this ravine bg, I figured 'a bit less is more'. lol Also, I based this general pose concept on the iconic image of Calvin and Hobbes flying over a hill in a wagon. I found it fitting, and fun to pay respects to the beloved characters and art styles of the classics. Last design thought, is the typography. I was nervous about exact placement, which is incredibly import for the flow of the viewers eye, but when I went to look up the original quote from Simon on youtube, I found that he didn't say it very smoothly. It was more like captain Kirk, but not as sudden. Just spread out, which I think I managed here. Just barely. I hope. XD I left out the "Lewis,-" bit, only because I have the pair of them already here, and they say it so often. BUT ANYHOW, this is way too much info. I'm sorry. lololol

:bulletblue: The original image is roughly 12x12 inches, I believe. I'm going to end up throwing this in the art section of the Yogscast forums anyhow, simply because I did put effort into it. Oddly enough, when I realized I missed the deadline (and was unfinished with this at the time) I worried less and more ideas came to me. I have no idea why that ended up that way. I would have been so proud, and it would have been amazing fun to get this on a shirt, or just get a shirt from their store. Having the guys take a look at it would have been great. I don't want any fame, but I do love the idea of lurking at the edges of it. Just an itsy bit. lol

Sucks that you missed it but they'll probably announce another one in a few months, I missed the first one myself.

I hope so. :0 I'm also hoping this design might still apply, assuming they don't have a specific theme for the next one.

Thanks. :D ♥ And yeah, I totally get what you mean. C: I wanted to highlight their most child-like and adventurous spirit. I wanted something sort of familiar and colorful, all family-friendly sort of things, where their sort of long-running gag/inside joke/catchphrase wouldn't totally confuse anyone that read it. If anything, I wanted people to look at it like "Well, who are these two silly guys? They look excited and seriously ready for an adventure!" XD

I must have taken 2 hours alone to figure out colors for the text. While they have a dreary dark background that suggests they're dungeneering, The words were sort of like "sky" "sky" "grass & earth" "DIAMONDSSSS".

Is this normal? I have such a weird craving to put tons of meaning in things like this. I even snuck some little baddies in the background like easter eggs for anyone that looked close enough. x3
